Ambrosia filament runs on cardboard spools built for Bambu AMS. No spool adapter, no weight sensor rattle, no AMS jams from incompatible spool geometry. Every spool is wound from 100% virgin Grade-A pellets — no regrind — and held to ±0.03mm diameter tolerance.

Ambrosia Silk PLA has a high-gloss, satin-sheen surface finish that looks metallic straight off the printer. No post-processing, no painting. The silk effect comes from the filament formulation — it reflects light in a way that standard PLA doesn't. Good for display models, figurines, vases, cosplay accessories, and any print where the visual impact is the goal.

Prints like standard PLA with slightly adjusted temps. Slightly slower print speeds and less cooling than normal PLA improve the gloss consistency. The finish is most dramatic at 0.1–0.15mm layer heights but looks good at 0.2mm too.

Print Settings

Nozzle: 200–230°C (runs slightly hotter than standard PLA)
Bed: 50–60°C
Enclosure: Not required
Cooling: Reduced — too much cooling dulls the silk effect
Nozzle: Standard brass

Avoid over-drying — silk PLA can get brittle if baked too long. Room-temperature storage in a sealed bag with desiccant is usually enough.

Ambrosia filament (1.75mm cardboard spool): Bambu Lab X1C, P1S, P1P, A1, A1 Mini with AMS; Prusa MK4/MK3S+/Mini+; Creality K1/K2/Ender 3 V3; Voron 2.4/Trident; most 1.75mm printers.

Push Plastic filament: 1.75mm spools work with Bambu X1C, Prusa MK4, Creality K1, Voron, RatRig, and all standard 1.75mm setups. 2.85mm spools work with Ultimaker S3/S5, LulzBot Taz Pro, and E3D toolchanger setups. Check the print settings in the product description for temperature and enclosure requirements specific to the material.
